System Operations Control Centre (SOCC) Supervisor - Calgary, AB (YYC)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and operationally focused individual to join our team as a SOCC Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and coordinated execution of our daily flight operations.

Reporting directly to the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC Manager or delegate, the SOCC Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the System Operations Control Centre team in the coordination of Central Mountain Air’s daily flight operations. In this role, you will help maintain our high standards of safety, on-time performance, operational efficiency, and customer service, while ensuring compliance with company policies and operational procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of System Operations Control Centre staff.

  • Provide guidance, support, and training to team members.

  • Foster a culture of safety, high-performance, and teamwork within the System Operations Control Centre.

  • Coordinate staff scheduling and performance to ensure it meets company operational needs.  

  • Responsible for establishing training documentation and training of all new employees.

 Operational Oversight:

  • Assist the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC Manager in establishing and implementing department policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.

  • Monitor and manage real-time flight operations, ensuring compliance with flight plans, safety regulations, and company standards.

  • Assist in operational decisions, in partnership with the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC Manager, related to delays, diversions, and other critical situations and contribute to the safety and efficiency of flights.

 Communication and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure all operational details are accurate and up to date.

  • Keep up to date with changes in regulations and industry standards and assist in establishing and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure operational procedures.

  • Assist in addressing and resolving operational issues and challenges in a timely manner.

 Emergency Response:

  • Coordinate responses to operational emergencies, working closely with relevant authorities and teams to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers and crew.

  • Provide operational support and communication during irregular operations (IROPs).

Performance Analysis Improvement:

  • Assist in the analysis of operational data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to optimize operational processes.

  • Other duties or projects assigned by the Chief Dispatcher/SOCC Manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a licensed dispatcher in the aviation industry considered an asset.

  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience

  • In-depth knowledge of flight operations, dispatch procedures, crew scheduling, and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience working in Amelia Res and Merlot considered an asset.

  • Able to apply applicable regulations (i.e., Canadian Aviation Regulations) and Standards (i.e., Commercial Air Service Standards)

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to make critical decisions with limited information.

  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to work irregular hours and be on call to address operational issues.
