Maintenance Auditor - Calgary, AB (YYC)

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Maintenance Auditor to join our dedicated team based out of Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the integrity of our Maintenance Quality Assurance Program by conducting independent audits, verifying regulatory compliance, and helping ensure our maintenance operations continue to meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled audits under the company's 12-month progressive maintenance audit program.

• Conduct audits of maintenance bases, maintenance control, technical records, planning, stores, tooling, facilities, training, aircraft certification, deferred defects, maintenance arrangements, and other maintenance-related processes.

• Conduct random, follow-up, special-purpose, vendor, and contractor audits as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

• Review applicable regulatory requirements, manuals, procedures, previous audit results, corrective action plans, and
  and audit check sheets before beginning an audit.

• Develop or apply audit sampling plans in consultation with the Quality Assurance Manager.

• Collect objective evidence through:

  • Record and document review.

  • Personnel interviews.

  • Physical inspection.

  • Observation of maintenance activities.

  • Review of technical records and maintenance releases.

  • Representative sampling of aircraft, work packages, parts, tools, training records, and other controlled items.

• Document audit findings clearly, accurately, objectively, and with sufficient supporting evidence.

• Prepare complete audit reports and submit audit packages to the Quality Assurance Manager within established timelines.

• Immediately escalate any condition that may affect airworthiness, flight safety, compliance, or the validity of a
  maintenance release.

• Participate in audit opening and closing meetings with department managers, base personnel, and other responsible persons.

• Assist in evaluating corrective action plans, root-cause analyses, and supporting documentation.

• Perform follow-up surveillance to verify that corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.

• Identify repeated, systemic, or emerging compliance concerns and bring them to the attention of the Quality Assurance Manager.

• Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential audit records.

• Support Transport Canada inspections, customer audits, external audits, and company quality assurance initiatives.

• Monitor changes to applicable regulations, standards, company procedures, and industry practices relevant to assigned
  audit areas.

• Travel to company bases, maintenance facilities as required.

• Perform other Quality Assurance duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Qualifications

• Formal internal-auditor or audit-process training, or previous experience working within an aviation Quality Assurance department.

• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance, aviation quality assurance, technical records, maintenance planning, maintenance control, or regulatory compliance.

• Working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations.

• Demonstrated understanding of aviation maintenance documentation, maintenance releases, technical records, parts traceability, approved maintenance schedules, and maintenance-control processes.

• Ability to interpret regulations, company manuals, manufacturer instructions, and technical documentation.

• Ability to conduct audits objectively and independently.

• Strong written communication, interviewing, analysis, organization, and report-writing skills.

• Ability to manage confidential information and maintain professional impartiality.

• Proficiency with standard computer applications and electronic document-management systems.

• Ability and willingness to travel to company bases.
