Aircraft Groomer - Calgary, Alberta (YYC)

In this role, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining our fleet, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency for our valued customers

Reporting directly to the Base Engineer, and indirectly to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Aircraft Groomer will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our aircraft fleet, as well as the hangar, offices, and facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

Responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of aircraft, hangars, offices, and facilities. Responsibilities are broken into two categories below:

Aircrafts:

  • Vacuum all carpeted areas of the cabin

  • Dust flight deck console

  • Remove trash and debris from all areas of the cabin

  • Wipe down and sanitize surfaces such as cabin walls, and galley areas

  • Ensure overhead bins, closets and stowage compartments are cleaned

  • Sweep and mop galley floor, passenger entrance and airstairs

  • Organize seat pocket contents, clean table trays, and ensure seats meet appearance standards

  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect lavatories

  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and materials

 

Hangars/Offices/Facilities:  

  • Routine cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all assigned areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, hangar, and common areas.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or polish floors as needed, ensuring they are free from dirt, debris, and hazards.

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.

  • Ensure all restrooms, common rooms and conference rooms are fully stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Empty and clean trash receptacles on a regular basis, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal.

  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring a dust-free and polished appearance.

  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, removing fingerprints, smudges, and streaks for a spotless finish.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas and janitorial closets, keeping cleaning supplies and equipment properly organized and stocked.

  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.

  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment by using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly.

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding health and safety.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous experience with industrial cleaning would be an asset

  • Must be able to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push and pull for extended periods of time

  • A physical ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be willing to work independently and follow instructions well

  • Must be able to obtain and retain a RAIC (Restricted Airport Identification Card)

  • Willingness to work outside in adverse weather conditions
